Undergraduate Teaching Assistant
UA's, commonly referred to as graders, are the undergraduate equivalent of TA's - they answer
questions and help with grading, homework and preparing class materials, though they are not expected
to do the same kind of work as TA's. UA's are hired on a quarterly basis. For more information, or
to apply to be an undergrad assistant for next quarter, please contact Marleen King (mking@cs.northwestern.edu).
Undergraduate Research Assistant
RA's assist faculty members with their research. See our undergraduate
research page for more details. A list of faculty interested in undergraduate assistants is being compiled.
In the meantime, please contact Prof. Ken Forbus (forbus@cs.northwestern.edu) for more details.
Other Undergraduate Opportunities
There are a host of jobs and C99 research opportunities available at the
Center for Connected Learning and Computer-Based Modeling. The center, which is associated with both
the Department of Computer Science and the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern, conducts
research on learning with technology and develops innovative software environments for modeling and
exploring complex systems. This is an opportunity to work with a dynamic research and development team on
some cutting edge projects. Follow this link for a list.
