News at Seven:  An automatic system that crafts daily news shows with customizable content, using a team of virtual actors in a virtual studio.  

This is the "parent project" of GestureMap, because one of our key goals is to improve the quality of human-realistic gestures used by the virtual newscasters when reading news stories aloud. 

Intelligent Information Laboratory:  The "Infolab" at Northwestern University has done considerable work regarding the intelligent extraction and application of information.  GestureMap draws upon work from this lab for measuring "emotional valence":

Articulab: This research group at Northwestern University, led by Justine Cassell, studies how people communicate with and through technology.   They are doing highly relevant research about the use of gestures by virtual agents.
